Welcome to "Dwight Frye: Dreams and Nightmares".

"Dreams and Nightmares" is a Blogger based community which is dedicated to the character actor Dwight Frye. This community's goal is to honor Dwight's life and his work. The community will offer several different features, so please take a moment to read through this post so that you may better understand how these features work. Understanding how to utilize what is offered will hopefully make everyone's experience here a lot more fun and productive!

VIDEOS: Those who are familiar with the popular video sharing site "You Tube" are already aware of the fact that Dwight Frye has several videos posted there to honor his memory. These videos range from wonderful tributes, to clips of Dwight's amazing work on screen. "Dreams and Nightmares" will also be utilizing video in order to honor Dwight Frye. There are a few ways in which you can post video here, so if you are interested in this feature please read on.

EMBEDDING: You may embed a video into your entry from an external source such as "You Tube". However, since "You Tube" has a very strict copyright policy and videos are regularly removed from their site without warning, I would suggest that if you'd prefer to embed videos that you first upload them to a more reliable site, such as "Photobucket" or "4 Shared".

UPLOADING: Unlike other popular blogging sites such as "Live journal" Dwight Frye's community here at "Blogger" allows you to directly upload videos to your journal entries. Once you have logged in you may choose to compose a new entry. Above the entry you will see several options such as font size, the ability to add a link to your post, etc. One of the options that you will see toward the right hand side of your screen is a small film strip icon. Click on this if you wish to directly upload a video to your entry.

PICTURES: "Dreams and Nightmares" will also be hosting a wide variety of images, and much like video there are two ways in which to share your photographs of our beloved Dwight. You may embed an image by linking to it from an external source or you may upload the image directly to your entry. If you wish to embed I again recommend a site such as "Photobucket" for this purpose. If you wish to upload directly choose to compose a new entry and again you will see the list of options that I mentioned above. Next to the film strip icon is a photo icon. Click on this icon to upload your pictures directly from your computer.

NEWS AND INFORMATION: Dwight's community will provide current news and information on the man with the thousand watt stare. If you would like to submit a find please be sure to include a brief description of what you will be sharing and provide a link to where the information was originally located. This may be done by once again choosing to compose a new entry and clicking on the circular icon above your typing space which will allow you to insert a link. If you are familiar with other blogging sites such as "Live journal" or "My Space" you should be perfectly fine with using the features offered here at "Blogger". FAN-FICTION: Unlike Dwight Frye's former community at "Ning" this page will allow members to post original fan-fiction dedicated to Dwight or any one of his numerous characters. If your fiction includes adult themes please be responsible and rate your story accordingly. Fiction ratings will be the same as film ratings. G will be general. PG is mild. PG-13 will be a bit more adult and R will be adults only. By following this system members will be aware of a story's content and can choose to read it or to pass on reading it if they wish.

SELLING AND TRADING: "Dreams and Nightmares" will encourage it's members to sell or to trade Dwight Frye or classic Hollywood items if they so choose. You may give a brief description of what you would like to sell or to trade in an entry or you may link to a store front or an interesting item on E-Bay. Examples of store fronts can be found at sites such as "Zazzle" or "Cafe Press".

ARTWORK: Original or found artwork pertaining to Dwight Frye will also be accepted at this community. You may share said artwork through a link or through embedding or uploading an image in your entry. If the work is not your own please credit the person who did create it, and include a link where you located the piece at.

TAGS: In order to help members easily locate the information that they may be searching for it is required that each and every entry posted to the community must be tagged. The tagging system will be simple and is as follows: Stories will be tagged fan-fiction. Videos will be tagged video. Photos will be tagged pictures. Information will be tagged news. Art will be tagged art and any trading or selling will be tagged under sales. You may use more than one tag per entry. In the case of fan-fiction you may also tag the entry with the title of your story for better identification. If you are not certain what to tag an entry feel free to contact me for help or suggestions.
