This video was originally created in the autumn of 2008 as a tribute to the classic 1931 horror masterpiece "Dracula" starring Bela Lugosi, Dwight Frye, Edward Van Sloan, David Manners and Helen Chandler. The chosen song is Henry Mancini's "Experiment in terror" which was part of the soundtrack for another well known thriller.

However, it was not this film which inspired me to choose this atmospheric tune. Instead the inspiration came from a little known Chicago based television program which was popular in the early 1970's. The show was called "Creature Features" and it aired on Saturday night. Each and every week another classic monster flick would be showcased and the legendary opening to the show included this song. A video for the opening can be viewed at the following link:
I highly recommend viewing this, as it is incredibly awesome. Since I was a young child this song has been connected to the Universal monster series for me. While I realize that it, of course, belongs to the Glenn Ford film of the same name I do not recognize it as such. For me, "Experiment in terror" will always be about classic Universal horror.
